Matt is the managing partner at JDH. His passion is for working with people and helping them get their arms around their financial world.
Having left Smith Barney (now Morgan Stanley) in 2005, Matt brought his knowledge of big-box financial advising to the boutique firm of JDH, joining his father as a business partner. He is a registered insurance agent (#0E40839), but never an insurance salesman. As the managing partner, he has helped grow JDH to over a quarter billion dollars of assets under management.
Matt earned his B.A. at San Diego State University. He and his amazing wife, Allison, have two children, Connor and Carolina. The family dog, Molly, occasionally makes a guest appearance at the office.
Eric joins JDH Wealth as a portfolio advisor. Before joining our team, Eric founded and ran a successful winery in Sonoma County for 11 years. Prior to that, he was an institutional trader at JP Morgan and Hambrecht & Quist in San Francisco for 10 years.
He will use his experience in both the investment world and the small business world to help clients reach their life goals. Financial planning goes far beyond just picking the right investments. It is about assisting a client in achieving the financial stability they need to help lead the life they most desire. Most people know what they want, but they don’t always know how to get there. Eric will help clients achieve their goals by creating a detailed life plan, which will be tailored to their unique situation. Each specific plan will need to be continuously monitored and updated as life takes its unexpected turns.
Eric has always called Santa Rosa his home, and he currently resides there with his wife, Courtney, their sons, Cole and Wade, and their Siberian Husky, Leo.
Tim started JDH in 2000 in order to provide a fee-only wealth management service in which he could guide his tax clients with in-depth financial planning needs. He has more than 40 years of experience in the tax, accounting, and financial service industries, advising high net worth individuals, businesses, and retirement plans.
Tim earned his B.S. and M.B.A. at Northern Arizona University. He and his high school sweetheart, Leigh Anne, have three kids and six grandkids. He lost his house in the 2017 Tubbs Fire. His experience navigating the tricky waters of the insurance world has led JDH to add insurance coverage evaluations as a service to our clients.
Shannon has always been drawn to small business teams that emphasize a culture of cultivation and education. She has spent many years bringing the pride of a well-crafted garden and landscape to Sonoma County and beyond. Now, she specializes in cultivating the individual dreams of clients and growing the wealth of her community. She seeks to serve the day-to-day needs of clients with a friendly smile and high level of service.
Shannon hails from Santa Cruz where her parents and grandma still live. She attended Cabrillo College in Aptos. A sense of adventure pulled her North and she has since fallen in love with the Santa Rosa area.
Her pride and joy is her Meyer’s parrot Misha. He is “oh-so-cute”, and will tell you as much, being a bit of a talker (and sometimes squawker).
She looks forward to bringing you together with the knowledgeable Advisors at JDH through scheduling and preparing meetings that focus on your individual needs.
Molly is the Chief Security Officer at JDH. Many of you have seen her around the office welcoming you with her tailless wag. She is five years old and a miniature Australian Shepherd. She is fascinated by black crows, bunnies, and cats. At the mention of the word “cat” at the office, she is out the side door ferociously looking for them in the bushes.
A little known fact about our CSO is that she has been sprayed by a skunk twice in the last two years. She has a new goal to get sprayed once a year. She is also scared by her own shadow.
She is always available for anyone who needs any emotional support!
